4th International Conference on Bio-based Polymers and Composites (BiPoCo 2018)

Date:
Sunday, 2 September, 2018 to Thursday, 6 September, 2018

The 4th International Conference on Bio-based Polymers and Composites (BiPoCo 2018) is the forth edition of a series of Conferences started in 2012, which gain visibility, affluence and importance year after year. As previous editions, the Conference was held in Hungary, this time in the city of Balatonfüred during the days of September 2-6. The scientific program encompasses characterization, modification and application of biopolymers, smart, nano-structured systems for controlled molecular release, and this year for the first time, synthesis of biopolymers (see the full list of topics here).

Dr Balázs Imre, member of the Glycoscience group at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden), and valuable participant within the scientific tasks in the BARBARA project, presented the latast advances in the compatibilization of plant polysaccharides with biobased polymers. The tasks of KTH within the project involve the compatibilization of starch from corn residues with engineered bio-based polyamides produced at NUREL (SPAIN).
